SUMMARY:Land Tending at Errol Heights
DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Errol Heights\, Johnson Creek Watershed Council\, and Portland Parks & Recreation as we gather at Errol Heights Park for a morning of Land Tending! We are working to revegetate areas that were disturbed during construction. This park is home to a plethora of wildlife including beaver\, woodpeckers\, ducks\, and dragonflies! \nWhat: Errol Heights Land Tending projects include weeding\, planting\, mulching\, and trash pick-up. These needs will change month to month. \nWhen: Saturday\, June 21st\, from 9:30 am – 12:30pm \nWhere: Errol Heights City Park (directions emailed after registration). \nWhat to bring: Bring a filled water bottle and snacks. You’re welcome to bring gloves and tools\, if you want to use your own. \nWhat to wear: Dress for the weather! Wear long\, thick pants\, a long-sleeved shirt\, and sturdy\, close-toed shoes you don’t mind getting muddy. Bring a raincoat or a hat and sunscreen\, as appropriate. \nWe will provide: Gloves\, and all necessary tools\, plus coffee and snacks. We can also provide bus fare to and from the event. Please contact info@jcwc.org to arrange bus fare. \nChildren are welcome but must be accompanied by an attentive adult. This work is around and near prickly plants and can be challenging for young children. DESCRIPTION:« All Events\n \n\n	Stewardship Saturday – Mulching at Columbia Children’s Arboretum\n			April 19\n	  @\n10:00 am\n	  –\n1:00 pm\n	 \nCome join the Columbia Slough Watershed Council and Portland Parks and Recreation as we continue work to restore one of the great hidden gems of the watershed\, The Columbia Children’s Arboretum!  \nWe are partnering with the City of Portland Natural Areas Stewardship Team\, run by Portland Parks & Recreation’s Natural Area Stewardship program. They works with volunteers of all ages to help enhance and restore Portland Parks natural areas\, to provide habitat to wildlife and insects\, and provide safe trails to park visitors. We are grateful for their partnership! \nCome and help us lay down mulch around the beautiful plants that volunteers installed on March 1st. \nPeople of all ages and abilities are welcome at this event\, no experience necessary.  We will provide all the tools and help you need to participate in the event. As well as snacks\, hot coffee and hot water for tea/cocoa.  This is rain or shine\, so please dress appropriately for the weather\, wear close-toed shoes\, bring a water bottle\, and be ready to get dirty! \n**Note: Please register for the event in order to be notified for any updates or cancellations!** \nDate & Time: Saturday\, April 19th\, from 10am to 1pm \nLocation: Columbia Children’s Arboretum.  Park/enter through the NE 6th Dr entrance and follow the event signs into the park where we will be set up.  Parking will be available in the parking lot and along NE 6th Dr. \nTransit: Trimet Line #6 to NE Vancouver way and NE Walker\, from here follow NE Walker to NE 6th DR and continue less than 1/4 mile to the park on your right. \nAccessibility: This event will involve bending and stooping to dig and plant on soft\, uneven ground. DESCRIPTION:Come join the Columbia Slough Watershed Council to restore a beautiful walking path near NE 166th and Airport Way!  We will be installing a variety of native plants\, including spirea\, snowberry\, goldenrod\, and more! \nWe are partnering with the City of Portland Natural Areas Stewardship Team\, run by Portland Parks & Recreation’s Natural Area Stewardship program.
